Paul Carroll (RIP)
Tributes are being paid to a Kilkenny man who lost his life in a drowning incident abroad.
Paul Carroll, who had been living in Japan, was formerly of Desart, Cuffesgrange, and passed away on Saturday, August 12.
He is predeceased by his parents Paul and Maureen Carroll.
His loss is deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife Tomomi, son Luke, daughter Maria, sisters Angela, Geraldine and Noreen, brother-in-law Louis, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends in Japan, neighbours and a large circle of friends worldwide.
Amongst those to pay tribute to Paul were Friends of Callan CBS, a community group for past pupils of the school.
"So sad to hear of the passing of our past pupil Paul Carroll (Class of 95-96)," they said.
"Sincere sympathies to his family in Japan and here in Ireland."
Another close friend paying tribute commented on Paul's 'larger than life' personality and 'wonderful smile'.
"He never missed a happy birthday message, nor a greeting and message for any other occasion," they said.
"His love for his wife and children was obvious for us all to see and the love for travel and adventure that he has given them."
May Paul Rest in Peace.
A memorial mass will take place in Church of the Holy Cross, Cuffesgrange at a later date to be announced.
