A Kilkenny community is in mourning following the passing of Ann Campion on Monday.
Ann Campion (nee Byrne) of Old Road, Moneenroe, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Ballymanane, Gorey, Co. Wexford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 10.
Ann is predeceased by her loving husband John, baby daughter Theresa, parents Edward and Mary Ellen, and brother Jimmy.
Ann will be deeply missed by her loving family, Michael, Anthony, Bernadette, Gerard, and Catriona, sons-in-law Ray and Seamus, daughter-in-law Lisa, and Anthony's partner Aoife.
She will also be missed by her beloved grandchildren Aoibhinn, John, and James, sister Frances and brother Ned, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and friends.
The local community have taken to share their memories of Ann online as well as express their sympathies to her family.
On her death notice on RIP.ie, one person kindly wrote: “Heartfelt condolences Michael, Anthony, Bernie, Ger and Catriona, the extended Campion and Byrne families. Ann was a lovely lady, quiet but her smile would always light up a room. Rest in Peace Ann.”
Another mourner wrote: “My sincere sympathy to Anthony and the family. Your mother was an absolute lady and a shining star in this world, always positive, good humoured and welcoming with an infectious laugh. May she rest in peace with your dear father John.”
While a third tribute read: “My sincere condolences to all the family. Ann was so kind and welcoming when we moved here, many nice conversations over her counter when she had the shop. Rest in peace Ann.”
Ann will be reposing at her residence on Wednesday, February 12, from 12pm, concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm.
Funeral Prayers on Thursday morning at 10am followed by removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Moneenroe for Requiem Mass at 11am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
