Caroline Dalton

The death has occurred of Caroline Dalton, The Mall, Thomastown, Kilkenny. Caroline passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 in the loving presence of her daughter Anna, parents and family. Caroline is predeceased her nephew Dylan. Caroline will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Anna, Anna's dad Richard, her parents Michael and Phyllis, sister Josephine, brothers John and Dean, sister-in-law Bridget, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Reposing at her parent's house, 20 Castle Avenue, Thomastown, (R95 F9P9) from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, August 27, with Vigil Prayers at 7.30pm. Funeral to arrive at the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown for 11am Requiem Mass on Thursday, August 28, followed by interment in St Mary's New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. Breid Doyle (née Fitzgibbon)

The death has occurred of Breid Doyle (née Fitzgibbon), Oakley, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny and formerly Thurles, Co. Tipperary, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by her family in her 96th year. Predeceased by her parents William and Anna and her brothers Joseph, Liam, Seàn, Peadar and Micheàl. Sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband John, her family Marie, Anita, Michael, Sheila, Liam, John, Ronan, Patrick and Michelle, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, her 11 grandsons, sisters Maura (Doyle) and Aine (Kavanagh), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Doyle's Funeral Home, Urlingford (Eircode E41 XO38) on Wednesday, August 27, from 6pm until 8pm. Removal takes place on Thursday morning, August 28, to the Church of the Assumption, Urlingford arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the Mill Cemetery, Urlingford.

Mona Lyons (née Carrigan)

The death has occurred of Mona Lyons (née Carrigan), Bauntha, Callan, Co. Kilkenny, originally from Burnchurch, Killenaule, Co. Tipperary. Passed away at home among her own, on Monday, August 25, 2025. Pre-deceased by her husband Jack, her sisters Kitty, Maureen and Jocie, her brother Jim and her great-granddaughter Moira. Mona will be missed by her children, Mary, Joe, Bernadette, John, Breda and Adrian, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Mona will repose at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan (Eircode R95 Y443), on Wednesday, August 27, from 4pm until 7pm. Mona’s Rosary and Vigil Prayers will take place afterwards at her home in Bauntha (Eircode R95 Y5F2) at 8.30pmFuneral Prayers at her home, on Thursday, August 28, at 11am followed by removal to The Church of the Assumption, Callan arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. John Joe Phelan

The death has occurred of John Joe Phelan, Boher, Thomastown, Kilkenny. John Joe passed away peacefully on Sunday,  August 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and staff at St Michael's Ward, St Columba's Hospital, Thomastown. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (Peggy née Millea), his parents, and his brother Jim. Much loved father of Paula, Sandra, John, and Caroline. John Joe will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughter-in-law Jane, sons-in-law: Alan, Paul, and Terry, his grandchildren: Evan, Brian, Jen, Conor, Adam, Sarah, Ciaran, Laura, Rachel, Emily, Cathal, and Bobby, his nieces and nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 11am in the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown followed by interment in St Mary's New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny. Family flowers only. Gareth Kyte

The death has occurred of Gareth Kyte, Briarwood, Slieverue, Kilkenny / Slieverue, Waterford / Caherdaniel, Kerry. Formerly of Pyle, Wales. Gareth passed away on Sunday, August 24,  after a short illness. Predeceased by his beloved parents, Stan and Beryl Kyte and sister Angela Crocker. He will be deeply missed by his heart broken wife, Maria. Lovingly remembered by his family in Wales, brother-in-law Mike Crocker, nephew Ryan and wife Mel, niece Shelley, and adored grand nephews and niece, Arthur, Ethan and Angie. Sadly, missed by his Irish family, sisters-in-law Patricia, Joan, Irene and Fran, brothers-in-law John, Michael, Jim and Colm, nieces, Tara and Amy, nephews Keon, Sean, Regan and Dylan and all his extended family and many friends.

Reposing at Donnacha Doyle & Sons Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow, County Kilkenny (X91 C962) on Friday, August 29, from 5pm until 8pm with reflection on Gareth’s life at 7.30pm. Derek Butler

The death has occurred of Derek Butler, Old Barracks, Main Street, Piltown Co Kilkenny. Late of the Royal Bar, Kickham Street, Carrick on Suir and The Old Barracks, Main Street, Piltown. Deeply regretted by his son Evan, his parents Pauline and Gerry, brothers Alan, Jonathan, Gerard and his sister Patricia, his nephew and niece, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Winnie (Winifred) Morrison (née Shaw)

The death has occurred of Winnie (Winifred) Morrison (née Shaw) of Rathcoole, Co Dublin and formerly Castlecomer Co Kilkenny who passed away peacefully at her home in her 89th year on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Predeceased by her beloved husband Noel, parents Mattie and Mary, siblings Eileen, Tom, Mattie and Dan and grandson Shane. Lovingly remembered by her daughters Deirdre, Joan and Lorraine, son Ray, sister Maureen, grandchildren Eddie, Eoin, Stephen, Conor, Rachel, Keelan, Gavin, Dylan, Dearbhail, Matthew and Adam along with her adored great grandchildren Ernie, Ivy, Méadbh, Ruby, Donnchadh and May, daughter in law Anne, sons in law Dave, Willie and Ian, sisters in law Catherine and Nualan, brothers in law Willie, Ollie and Sean, extended family and friends.

Catherine (Teresa) Kennedy (née Jackson)

The death has occurred of Catherine (Teresa) Kennedy (née Jackson), Maudlin Street, Kilkenny. Teresa passed away on  August 23, 2025, peacefully, in the presence of her family, at St. Luke's Hospital. Predeceased by her late husband Dan. Beloved mother of Edward, Martina, Joseph, Catriona, Domhnall and Fiona. Teresa will be sadly missed by her loving family, brother William, son-in-law Matthew, daughters-in-law Geraldine, Fiona and Paula, her 10 grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends
