Tribute to popular Kilkenny woman who ran local newsagents and grocery

RIP: Agnes Keoghan (née O'Shea)

The peaceful death recently occurred at her home of Agnes (Aggie) Keoghan, Liss.

Born in Freshford in County Kilkenny, where she spent much of her life, Aggie ran a very successful grocery and newsagents, a business now lovingly continued by her daughter Oonagh and son-in-law Paul.

Following her retirement from the shop, Aggie moved to Liss, where she farmed alongside her late husband, Jack.

Aggie was a woman of warm and kind disposition, endearing herself to all who knew her.

She had a great love of reading, enjoyed the game of bridge, and most of all cherished her family and grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.

After Requiem Mass at the Church of The Assumption, Tullaroan her remains were removed to the local cemetery for burial.

Aggie is survived by her sons Frank and Liam; daughters Catherine, Oonagh and Eithne; sons-in-law; daughters-in-law; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and her many friends.
