Kilkenny RFC's Jake McDonald
Kilkenny Rugby Club have wished their former captain, Jake McDonald, the very best in his next chapter as he departs for Australia.
McDonald has been part of the fabric of the club since an early age, progressing from team mascot in 2001 to 2004, through minis, youths to the greatest honour in Leinster Junior Rugby, captaining the club to the Towns Cup in 2022.
The local player's talents haven't gone unnoticed on the provincial front, with the out-half selected to play for the Leinster Rugby Junior team.
Closer to home, the Kilkenny man's positive influence on the team hasn't waned this season either, guiding the club to the brink of promotion in Division 1B of the Leinster League with games still remaining.
Commenting on his departure, the club said: "We will miss him on & off the pitch, but he owes us nothing. We wish him & Rosin, a great trip and experience in Australia. As they say, this is good luck, it isn't good bye. See ya soon, stay safe."
