Former Kilkenny College player Charlie Tector will be making his Ireland U-20s Six Nations debut at out-half against Wales in Musgrave Park in Cork later this evening.

Tector has shown a recent ability to thrive under pressure and his assuredness in the green '10' jersey has undoubtedly pleased Head Coach Richie Murphy.

"We have been building towards Friday for a number of weeks now and the group have put in a huge amount of work in preparation for the Six Nations," Murphy said.

"The prospect of returning to Cork and playing in front of a big crowd, including family and friends, is a really exciting one for the players and the management team."

Tector, from Wexford, currently plays for Lansdowne FC but his school performances for Kilkenny College will have the black and amber contingent rooting for him tonight.

Ireland v Wales kicks off at 8pm and will be broadcast live on RTÉ2.
