Presentation Primary School, Kilkenny City, and St. Michael’s National School, Crosspatrick, were amongst the first in the country to host the popular children’s fitness initiative ‘Fit Squad’ as it resumed its new programme of in-person school visits following the Summer break.

Supported by Fyffes and delivered by Irish fitness expert Sharon Flanagan the visits saw over 100 pupils participate in an active age-appropriate workout designed to improve their general fitness during which advice on the importance of healthy eating was given.

Running until next March, the new series will see some 10,000 pupils participate from schools throughout Ireland, north and south, increasing to almost 40,000 the number that will have taken part in the programme since it was introduced in 2018. Schools interested in receiving a similar visit can find details online at www.fyffesfitsquad.ie
