Kilkenny school marks end of term

Coláiste Pobail Osraí reviewed the many exciting and inspiring events that happened in the school during the year when they held their annual awards celebration in the Set Theatre.

Management and teaching staff spoke to the crowd of students and families present of the pride they had in their school and in their students’ fantastic achievements.

Emphasis was placed on the school’s core values, and how these were exemplified in all aspects of daily life in the school.
There were many awards presented throughout the day for curricular and extra-curricular efforts, and the night’s event ended with some of the big prizes.

Among those to be commended for their contribution to the school community were Transition Year Students of the Year Caitlín Ní Luain Ghormlaith and Shane Ó Néill. This award was presented by TY co-ordinator, múinteoir Mary Uí Shluain.
Junior and Senior Spiorad Scoile awards were presented to Seárlas Ó Laighin and Rhys Ó Cinnéide and Dalta Osraí was awarded to Róisín Sabhaois.

These awards given to recognise their contributions to the school’s atmosphere of positivity and inclusive education.
Junior and Senior Sportspeople of the Year awards were presented to Ruth Ní Chrualaoich and Molly de Búrca, both of whom had a tour de force in a variety of sports during the year.

The Junior Student of the Year, Cormac Diver, and Senior Student of the Year, Róisín Ní Shúilleabháin, were highly praised for their outstanding contribution to the school in recent years. What an end to an incredible year. Comhghairdeas leo ar fad!
