Secondary students in Kilkenny are invited to take part in this year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards.
First round interviews will take place in schools during the first week in November, with the Kilkenny final for the individual school winners later that month.
The Kilkenny Rotary Club winner will progress on to the regional final for a chance of winning a place on a trip to Europe.
The overall prize is a five day, all expenses paid trip, in February 2025, which includes a visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, to take part in Euroscola where young people will become an MEP for a day.
The Euroscola programme brings together students from all over Europe for a hands on experience in parliamentary democracy.
In previous years the trip started with a visit to Stormont in Belfast, Dáil Eireann in Dublin, and a reception in the European Parliament Liaison Office in Dublin.
Students should apply through their schools and must be over 16 years of age on January 1, 2025, and under 18 on March 31, 2025.
