This week marked the retirement of Bridgette McCarthy, following an exceptional career spanning over three decades with the KCETB (formerly Kilkenny VEC).
Bridgette’s journey began in the early 1980s as a student and yard hand at Grennan Equestrian School. Over the years, she progressed through roles as yard manager, teacher, and course coordinator - demonstrating unwavering commitment and excellence at every stage.
"Her dedication to the learners, the equestrian programme, and her beloved horses has been nothing short of inspirational," a spokesperson said.

"Bridgette’s ability to evolve with the times, embrace innovation, and pursue excellence has made her a respected educator and a highly regarded figure in the equestrian community.
"Under her leadership, the Equestrian Campus of the College of FET Kilkenny has flourished - benefiting from her vision, expertise, and passion," they continued.
"On behalf of all staff and learners, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to Bridgette for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement."
