Significant drugs seizure in rural location outside Kilkenny

Gardaí in Kilkenny seized a significant quantity of cannabis during a planned search in a rural location in North Kilkenny on Saturday.

The search which took place in a townland close to the town of Castlecomer was part of a garda operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the area.

Approximately €15,000 worth of drugs, suspected to be cannabis were seized and were sent for analysis.

A male in his thirties was charged in relation to the seizure and is due before Kilkenny District Court on September 15.
