A Kilkenny soccer club has once again hit out at irresponsible dog owners in the locality who continue to allow their pets to foul their pitches, and don't bother to even clean it up.

"Again we need to highlight this horrible issue," a club spokesperson said.

"Yesterday one of our kids teams were training when the goalkeeper came up to his coach with dog sh*te up his arm and on his glove - "I dived to save a shot and landed in dog poo coach" was the message...!"

According to the club, this incident occurred even after one of the coaches had removed loads of dog poo with a shovel, obviously missing some of it.

"This is getting worse and whoever is letting their dogs loose on our pitch should be ashamed of themselves," the spokesperson continued.

"Would you like it if your child came home with his or her clothes covered in dog sh*te? We are volunteers and this is a community football pitch used by many children, KEEP YOUR DOGS OFF OUR PITCH."
