ROUND-UP: McCalmont Cup hits last 32 stage - Kilkenny Live

Heavy rainfall and flooded pitches yet again caused disruption to the fixtures calendar in the Kilkenny & District League but four games did survive the weather in the McCalmont Cup.

Lions 1, Fort Rangers 2 - Fort Rangers advanced to the last 16 on Saturday evening with two first half goals enough to book the Cuffesgrange side’s passage through away in Durrow.

Emmet Nugent opened the scoring 18 minutes into the contest before Paddy Cahill converted his eighth goal of the campaign three minutes before half-time.

However, ‘Fort’ had to hold off a late Lions fightback and stoppage time goal to advance.

Evergreen C 4, Fort Rangers B 0 - Evergreen C overcame a resilient Fort Rangers B to run out winners comfortable winners. But it was anything but!

Jeff Kealy broke the deadlock on the 24th minute with the games final three goals not arriving until inside the final 20 minutes (Gerry Walsh and Shane Casey x2).

Freebooters 3, East End 1 - Three first half goals were enough for the ‘Booters side to progress. Mark Flynn, Ben Ryan and Daniel Oyewole all netted in the final 15 minutes off the first half. Noah Walsh Brennan did respond for East End in stoppage time.

Newpark 3, Clover Utd 1 - Two first half goals from Alex Molloy and Broklyn Synott set the winners on their way with Ronan Walsh’s strike seven minutes into the new half securing the win.

Keane Hayes netted on the 51st minute but Clover couldn’t narrow the gap.
