On Tower Ireland Ltd have appealed the decision from Kilkenny County Council to refuse them planning permission to erect a 27 metre tall telecommunications structure.

The applicant seeks to locate the structure on a site at Ballyrobin, Ferrybank, County Kilkenny.

The structure is planned to carry antennas, dishes and associated equipment for high-speed wireless data and broadband services.

Also sought by the applicant is an access track and the provision of ground-based equipment cabinets and fencing.

An Bord Pleanála is due to make a final decision on the plans by August 21, 2023.
