Cllr Ger Frisby is the new Cathaoirleach of Piltown Municipal District, taking the reins from Cllr Fidelis Doherty for the year ahead.
He was nominated at this month’s sitting of Piltown MD by Cllr Eamon Aylward, and his nomination was seconded by Cllr Pat Dunphy.
Cllr Eamon Aylward is the new Leas Cathaoirleach.
He was nominated by the outgoing Leas Cathaoirleach Cllr Ger Frisby, and seconded by Cllr Fidelis Doherty.
The new Cathaoirleach, Cllr Frisby, stated that ‘he will not be found wanting’.
“The business that happens here impacts on the lives of everyone in the area,” he said.
The new Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach both also paid tribute to their outgoing counterparts.
