Hotel for bugs to be built in Kilkenny village after council gives green light

A community group in a Kilkenny village has received planning permission to construct a bug hotel in the area.

Kilkenny County Council this week (July 31) granted planning permission to Keep Piltown Tidy for the construction of a new Inkbottle Bug Hotel and all associated works at Ardclone, Piltown, Co Kilkenny.

The application was approved subject to three conditions.

One of the conditions stipulates that the permission for an ink bottle hotel shall be for a period of five years.

Additionally, if the bug hotel "becomes obsolete" at any stage, it will be removed and the site shall be returned to its original condition.
