Temporary bridge supports are being installed in the River Suir (as seen from the North Quays)
Significant progress has been made on the sustainable transport bridge project on the River Suir, close to the border with County Kilkenny.
Four concrete piers, the northern and southern bridge abutments are all now visible above the waterline.
The temporary bridge supports are being installed in the water which will assist with the installation of the bridge deck.

The fabrication of the steel bridge deck superstructure is complete, and the mechanical and electrical components are currently being installed in Belgium.
The building work on the transport hub on the North Quays is also continuing, with works progressing on the structural steelwork and roof deck.
Works to the internal ticketing areas, offices, conveniences and public concourse at first floor level are in progress.
Works to the platforms and rail track are continuing and preparation works are ongoing.
The Ferrybank pump station is also now complete and in operation while the new Bus Eireann car park south of Abbey Road is close to completion.
Construction on the new railway flood defence system is due to commence shortly.
