Cllr Pat Dunphy has raised concerns over a road accident blackspot on the N24 near New Aglish in South Kilkenny.

“I can recall about nine accidents in the past two years there, most of them hitting the same wall,” he told engineer, John Tennyson at this month's meeting of Piltown Municipal District.

Tennyson stated that the road design office is ‘liaising with Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII)’ on the issue.

"It could be an issue of speed," Tennyson said. "We can do a speed survey there again. It's not even on a bad bend."

Tennyson also suggested passing on representations from the councillors to TII.

He further noted that skid resistance on that stretch of road is ‘up to standard’.
