Twenty bags of rubbish were collected last week in Mullinavat, down on previous clean-ups, a sign of a reduction in the amount of littering on the roads and reflecting the accumulative impact of the clean-ups over the past two years.

In March, 80 bags full of litter were collected from roadsides and rivers in the area. Together with the litter taken off the sides of the R448 the previous week, it means over 180 bags of litter were removed from the countryside and surrounds at the time.
