Maria Wall, the newly elected National Policy Director of Ógra Fianna Fáil
To mark International Day of Action for Women’s Health, Ógra Fianna Fáil has officially launched a forward looking policy paper on the future of women’s healthcare in Ireland.
This comprehensive proposal, developed by Mooncoin native Maria Wall, the newly elected National Policy Director of Ógra Fianna Fáil, delivers a clear message: the advancement of women’s healthcare must remain a national priority and cannot be allowed to slip off the political agenda.
The policy focuses on three urgent and interlinked areas:
Among the key proposals are lowering the eligibility age for free cervical cancer screening to 18 and rolling out free period products in all public buildings.
Maria said: “For too long, gaps in women’s healthcare have been accepted as the norm. Our proposals aim to modernise our healthcare system to reflect the lived experiences of women in Ireland today. It’s time to take meaningful steps that reflect equality in care and support.”
The policy document is available at www.ogra.ie or through Ógra’s socials.
