Main Man
Eoin Cody (Kilkenny)
The Kilkenny captain continued where he left off in the subsequent fixture last year as he caused Galway numerous problems as he scored six points from play. Cody had a mixed league but maybe with a point to prove against his uncle Henry Shefflin, he stood up to the mark. Away from Cody, Kilkenny had other top displays from Darragh Corcoran, Huw Lawlor, Eoin Murphy and David Blanchfield.

Talking Point
No matter what way you look at it, there was a strong feeling from everyone in UPMC Nowlan Park on Sunday that they were watching a possible dress rehearsal for the Leinster Final. While the game was exciting all the way through, it really only sprung to life in the final few minutes. With the passing of time, both sides will probably be relatively pleased with a point each.

Turning Point
With the game proving to be so close in the end, the smallest inches can tip the scale and when Kilkenny look back on the result, Mossy Keoghan’s missed goal chance is something they will look back on with a bit of regret. The Tullaroan man had a huge impact off the bench and his late effort which half the ground thought was in, would have certainly made a Galway comeback all the more difficult.

Highlight
After easing to a 22 point victory over Westmeath a week earlier, it was hard to gauge where Kilkenny stood but Derek Lyng would have been pleased with many aspects of Sunday’s performance.

What’s Next
Kilkenny travel to Belfast to meet Antrim in Corrigan Park on Sunday while Galway meet Westmeath on Saturday evening.
