Kilkenny’s Lucy Coogan will be in European action
The wait is almost over for Kilkenny’s Lucy Coogan, who is all set to represent Ireland in the European Basketball Championships in Romania this July.
With 16 underage appearances for the nation, Coogan is now set to compete in the under-20 Women’s European Championships, which start on July 28.
“I’m excited, the team is excited, we're all ready to play now.” she said eagerly. “We have a great team and are really hoping to do well and get something out of this year.”
Coogan and her Irish team-mates are deep into preparation - they will travel to the Czech Republic this week to play a series of games before, in a fortnight’ Lucy and the Ireland team head off to Croatia to prepare for the Championships.
