Three time All-Ireland Hurling Champion Brendan Maher welcomes first baby with former Miss Universe Ireland Aoife Hannon.

The pair took to Instagram to share the news in a joint post holding a sonogram saying; “We have a little baby due in March and we couldn’t be happier.”

The Borrisoleigh hurler won three All-Stars awards and was nominated for Hurler of the Year in 2010.

He won eight major trophies in his inter-county career, including three All-Ireland Championships. 

Aoife, a qualified physiotherapist founded her own business the Pilates Programme during the pandemic and runs online workshops.

The couple got engaged in 2020 and tied the knot in May 2022 at Dromquinna Manor, located in Kerry, and recently celebrated their first year of marriage together.

The pair have received many congratulations under the post including fellow Tipperary woman Rozanna Purcell who said; "Ah congrats."
