Athletics Ireland have announced the extension of its landmark partnership with leading Irish insurance company 123.ie through to the end of 2030 in a multi-year, six-figure deal.
The extension solidifies 123.ie’s role as the Official Partner of Athletics Ireland and affirms its commitment to growing the sport from grassroots through to elite level across the country.
123.ie known for its “Give better a try” ethos, first partnered with Athletics Ireland in 2022. Since then, the sport has gone from strength to strength, buoyed by record-breaking performances, growing participation, and unprecedented engagement from the Irish public who, like 123.ie, are 100% behind Athletics Ireland from grassroots communities across Ireland to the international stars such as Rhasidat Adeleke, Sharlene Mawdsley, Kate O’Connor, and Mark English to name but a few.
This renewed agreement will see 123.ie continue as Athletics Ireland’s Official International Kit Sponsor, as well as title sponsor of the Athletics Ireland National Championships, National Athletics Awards, Summer Camps Programme, and a series of community and participation initiatives that will be rolled out over the next five years. Their ongoing marketing and promotional investment will also help spotlight Irish athletics on national and international stages.
A Partnership Driving Outperformance and Participation
123.ie’s partnership with Athletics Ireland has coincided with a golden period for Irish athletics. The Paris Olympic cycle yielded 36 international medals for Ireland – another increase on the 30 medals secured during the Tokyo cycle. Membership of Athletics Ireland has soared, surpassing the 70,000 milestone for the first time ever, with a new record membership on target again in 2025, highlighting the sport's rising popularity.
Elaine Robinson, Managing Director of 123.ie, added: “We’re incredibly proud to extend our partnership with Athletics Ireland. Our shared values – integrity, excellence, and inclusivity – are reflected in every athlete and volunteer in this great sport. By investing through to 2030, we’re saying clearly: we believe in the future of Irish athletics and are committed to being part of that journey.”
Hamish Adams, CEO of Athletics Ireland, welcomed the announcement: “We are delighted to extend our award-winning partnership with 123.ie for another five years. The ongoing support from 123.ie enables us to deepen our impact at all levels – from elite competitions to juvenile and schools athletics. We will continue to work together to build a healthier, more active Ireland together through our shared values”.
