Kilkenny’s Mark Power is one of 11 Irish players that will take part in the Amgen Irish Open at the K-Club in county Kildare this week.

Despite having a frustrating type of season, the 25 year-old has gained a professional invitation to a tournament and a course that he has good success in.

Back in 2023, Power finished in 33rd position at the Kildare venue earning himself over €40,000 in prize-money and he will be hoping a return to the former Ryder Cup venue will see an upturn in form.

Power has previously competed in the national tournament at Lahinch, Royal County Down and Mount Juliet in Kilkenny and he’ll hope to take the eye in a star-studded field.

The Kilkenny golfer commences his tournament on Thursday afternoon at 12.40pm alongside Kazuma Kobori (NZ) and Ben Schmidt (Eng).

All of the action can be caught on RTE Television and Sky Sports over the course of the weekend.
