2025 Junior C Cup Final- Thomastown 0-12 Glenmore 0-9

A lovely sunny morning in Mullinavat set the scene for the final game in the Junior C competition.

After convincing wins in the Junior C quarter finals and semi-finals Glenmore and Thomastown qualified for the final.

In what transpired to be an incredible battle, neither side were prepared to give an inch with super defensive displays from both teams in particular Glenmore’s Ella Talbot and Thomastown’s Sinead Galway, the teams went in at half time level with four points each.

The second half was equally as competitive, two consecutive saves from Elizabeth Phelan in Glenmore’s goal and Aisleann Mullally’s accurate free taking kept Glenmore in the hunt, in what looked to be a game heading for extra time, but it was Thomastown’s ability to take points from play that ultimately was the difference, with late scores from Ellen Treacy and the Player of the Match Una Donnelly getting them over the line.

A super performance from both teams who kept their supporters entertained right up to the final whistle.

St Brigids emerged as Junior D Cup winners after an excellent performance against Young Irelands in the final played in pleasant conditions in Kells Road on Sunday morning.

St Brigids started with the backing of the wind elements and with Tara Cody Molly Conroy very much to the fore, they forged an impressive 2-11 to 1-0 half time lead with the Young Irelands goal coming from a penalty in the 20th minute from Nessa Farrell.

Their forwards were very accurate throughout and they continued to drive on throughout the second period with Molly Conroy and Tara Cody adding further scores to open the gap to 3-16 to 1-1 by the 50th minute.

In truth the result never looked in doubt as the St Brigids defence led by player of the match Edwina Keane and Chloe Teehan repelled many Young Irelands attacks in both halves.
