Kilkenny GAA: Colleges hurling looks likely to swing into action

Three Kilkenny schools will be in action in the Leinster post primary schools senior hurling Roinn A championship tomorrow (Wednesday), weather permitting.

It is almost certain at this early stage that the Kilkenny CBS versus St Peter's College (Wexford) clash will go ahead in Ferns (1.15pm) because the weather had been milder than in most places in that area.

There will be a pitch inspection in Jenkinstown at 9am tomorrow to decide whether or not the clash between Leinster league champions, St Kieran's College and Castlecomer Community School will go ahead.

Prospects are good at the moment, and if the tie gets the green light the action will get underway at 2pm.

The entire Kilkenny GAA programme was wiped out by the weather at the weekend, including the much anticipated under-21 Roinn A hurling final between Ballyhale Shamrocks and Northern champions, James Stephens.

The full programme has been rescheduled for this weekend.
