Kilkenny greyhounds: malfunction so racing abandoned

There was only one night and one race run at St James Park greyhound track, Kilkenny last week.
After the first race on the card on Friday night racing was abandoned because of a trap malfunction.
In the only race run, an a8/a9 bitch 525, Kilara Lynda was sent off the 6/4 favourite.
The contest was level early doors before Kilara Lynda led up from trap 3. From there the strong running favourite was going to take a lot of pegging back.
Feed me Brie gave chase between the bends but within a matter of strides, Kilara Lynda, a daughter of Tyrur Big Mike and Kilara Cher was six lengths to the good.
The lead was up to seven lengths by the third turn and the Paul Hennessy-trained Kilara Lynda was in complete control.
The March 16 youngster never missed a beat and came home seven lengths clear of the running on Killenane Lass in 29.94.
It was a first career success for Kilara Lynda at the fourth time of asking.
The remainder of Friday night’s card will now be run this coming Friday, January 19.
