Cillian Buckley - management expect him to be ready to face Clare
Kilkenny captain, Cillian Buckley should be ready to go again when the Cats entertain Clare in the National Hurling League at Nowlan Park next weekend.
The flying Dicksboro defender took a bad knock in the 64th minute of last night's opening Allianz League match against Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, and after being treated for nearly six minutes on the field he was eventually stretchered off.
However, the news from the Kilkenny team management afterwards was that Buckley was okay, and he should be fit for next weekend's match.
Kilkenny had just drawn level at 1-19 to 0-22 when Buckley was involved in an accidental collision when contesting a ball which left him flat out on the field.
Brian Cody's men lost their momentum for a while afterwards and conceded the next three scores, which left them trying to rescue the match in injury time.
Cork won in the end by 1-24 to 0-24 after what was a close affair during which the scores were level 13 times.
