Kilkenny runners face national competition on Stook Sunday

Runners heading to Kilkenny tomorrow could see a real battle on the roads around Dungarvan Village for Stook Sunday.

Organisers Gowran AC will welcome a talent-laden field for their Stook 10 mile event, with Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club's Freddy Keron Stuk racing Clonliffe Harriers AC's Gary O'Hanlon in a head to head over the hills of the 10-mile course.

With O’Hanlon’s course record of 51’59 from 2012 still standing, as well as his official 4'25" Flying Mile split on mile 5, it could be all change this year in an honest battle between these two.

In the women's race Leevale Athletic Club's Lizzie Lee is the current favourite and likely to pick up the course record bonus too.

There are still entries available. For information and registration visit www.stook10.ie
