Met Éireann issues status yellow warning for three counties

The warning takes effect from 8am on Saturday and will remain valid for 12 hours.

LESS than 48 hours after Storm Agnes battered much of the country, Met Éireann has issued its latest weather warning.

A status yellow alert has been issued for Counties Cork, Kerry and Waterford with the national forecaster warning of "persistent and at times heavy rain".

The warning takes effect from 8am on Saturday and will remain valid for 12 hours.

Potential impacts include localised flooding and dangerous road conditions in place.

Met Éireann says wet and breezy conditions will spread countrywide on Saturday morning, with some heavy falls of rain.

Highest temperatures on Saturday will range from 15 to 19 degrees.
