Kilkenny resident's cold weather suggestion gains major traction on social media

The suggestion of a Kilkenny resident to help others in the midst of the current cold spell is gaining traction on social media.

Lucy Glendinning posted the following suggestion earlier today: "Can I please suggest the community get shovels out and clear the space in front of your own footpath?

"This will make life much easier for everyone. If next door is empty do that one too, if your neighbour is unable to do theirs, do that one too."

People are also being advised to check up on elderly and vulnerable friends, family and neighbours.
