Met Éireann is warning of heavy rain that may cause disruption and localised flooding
Met Éireann has issued a 'Status Yellow – Rain Warning' for Kilkenny and several other counties, including Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, and Waterford.
The warning comes into effect from 5pm on Friday (September 19) and will remain in place until midnight on Saturday (September 20).

The national forecaster is warning of spells of heavy rain at times, which may cause:
- Localised flooding in low-lying or poorly drained areas.
- Poor visibility, making road conditions hazardous.
- Difficult travelling, particularly on regional and rural routes.

Drivers are advised to take extra care, reduce speed in wet conditions, and allow additional braking distance.
Commuters should also plan for possible delays during the Friday evening rush hour.
