Delta Dogs to headline Barrow Valley Blues Mini-Festival in Kilkenny

Delta Dogs to headline Barrow Valley Blues Mini-Festival in Kilkenny

Delta Dogs are the headline act at the festival

The inaugural ‘Barrow Valley Blues’ mini-festival will take place later this month with blues band, Delta Dogs the headline attraction.

Barrow Valley Activities Hub, the award-winning activities’ centre has been busy throughout the summer and was fully booked with campervans every weekend despite the challenging weather.

A key amenity at the Hub is an outdoor covered area where Saturday music sessions have been very popular with both holidaymakers and residents of Graignamanagh and Tinnahinch. There are plans to further expand the music offering at the Hub with this ‘Blues’ event the first step on the road. ‘Blues’ was chosen as the theme in response to many requests from visitors.

The Barrow Valley Blues festival takes place on September 23 from 5pm to 9.30pm. Admission is free and it is a BYOB event.

Delta Dogs are regarded by many as the top blues band in the South East region having built up a devoted following in the past decade. The band’s repertoire seamlessly blends the soul of the original Delta and Chicago blues masters like Elmore James and Muddy Waters, the fire of 60's revivalists like Clapton, Hendrix and Rory Gallagher and the swagger of Texans Stevie Ray Vaughan and Billy Gibbons. Regularly on the bill at Blues festivals across Ireland, the band most recently
played to a packed house at the Howth Blues Festival.
Support will be provided by Inistioge rock and blues band, Mean Streets, well-known to audiences across Kilkenny.
Admission to the event is free and everyone is welcome but there is limited VIP seating available at €10 per person. VIP seating is fully covered and VIP ticket holders will be served finger food during the event.
