Kilkenny Rose Lisa O’Rourke who is this year’s Relay for Life event ambassador
Relay For Life Kilkenny has announce Lisa O’Rourke, the Kilkenny Rose in this year’s Rose of Tralee, as this year’s event ambassador.
The annual 24-hour fundraising event, held in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, will take place at the Kilkenny Rugby Club from 1pm on Saturday, July 6 to 1pm on Sunday, July 7.
Lisa, a 28-year-old from Castlecomer, Kilkenny, brings a wealth of enthusiasm and community spirit to her new role. With a BSc in Marketing and a professional background as an employee communications specialist at Tirlán, she is known for her outgoing personality and passion for social engagement, music, and travel.
“I am deeply honoured and grateful to be asked to be this year’s Relay For Life Kilkenny ambassador,” she said.
“This event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society holds a special place in my heart, as I lost my mam to cancer at a young age. Relay For Life Kilkenny brings hope to many families affected by cancer, and I am humbled to be a part of such a meaningful cause.”
Last year’s Relay For Life Kilkenny raised over €40,000 for cancer support services, and this year’s event promises to be even more impactful with Lisa involved. The community is encouraged to join in the inspiring event to support those affected by cancer and celebrate the strength and resilience of survivors.
