Sorting the fleece at last summer’s sheep sheering event at Cushendale Woolen Mill
The traditional skill of sheep sheering is making a welcome return to a Kilkenny town, this summer, and everyone is invited to come along!
Cushendale Woolen Mills in Graignamanagh will hold its second, annual event on Saturday, June 1, from 1pm to 4pm, in the mill yard.
Stars of the show will be Cushendale’s very own Galway breed sheep herd. A heritage Irish breed, they are a protected breed and Ireland’s only indigenous breed, but remain in small numbers in this country.
This is a free, family event and there will be lots to entertain young and old, including Irish dancing, live music, a kids treasure hunt and an embroidery workshop.
