Kilkenny basks in sunshine for opening of Cat Laughs  Festival

David O'Doherty is performing at this year's festival

The team behind the Kilkenny Cat Laughs are celebrating 30 years of success with 18 new acts at the festival which kicks off later today.

Nine of the newbie comedians are performing later today at the opening show, Chris Kent and friends which takes place at Set Theatre at 6pm.

This year's festival also features all the top names on the comedy circuit including Joanne McNally, Des Bishop, Gearóid Farrelly, Karl Spain, Shane Todd, David O’Doherty, Chris Kent and many more.
