Eclectic summer programme announced for Ballykeeffe amphitheatre

Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre will host a number of top acts over the coming months

An eclectic lineup of events is planned for Ballykeeffe amphitheatre this summer with a number of high profile acts performing at the venue.

The programme of events kicks off on Saturday, June 29 when Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre hosts the Republic of Ireland’s first open-air mixed martial arts event. One of the high;ights this summer will be Chasing Abbey who will perform at the amphitheatre on Kuly 13. The dance pop trio from Tullamore have honed their artistic talent to create their unique sound, achieved only by combining the the group pool’s talent with each member being a multi-instrumentaist, vocalist and producer.

More recently, Chasing Abbey have revisited their roots as Irish traditional musicians and are pioneering a new genre of muci - ‘Trad House’- where they reimagine and rework centuries’ old Irish traditional songs and fuse them with their distinctive dance pop sound.

Another concert that will draw a big crowd is Amble who will perform on July 20. Amble are a three-piece ensemble from the midlands and the west of Ireland who in only ten months have sold all their shows. If amble’s debut EP, 2023’s ‘Amble Live’, introduced a new musing, trad tinged trio of songwriters to the Irish music scene, 2024’s highly distinctive ‘Of Land and Sea’ finds the group expanding their sound to an ever-more global audience.

Other acts that will perform at Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre this summer include Mack Fleetwood on August 10 and Harvest - a tribute to Neil Young, an eight-piece band who have been thrilling audiences of Neil Young and who will take to the stage on August 24. The legendary singer/songwriter, Paul Brady will perform at Ballykeeffe on August 31 along with Bill Shanley and Steve Fletcher. Cork-born artiste, Lyra will also perform two sold out shows at the venue on July 26 and 27.

Committee chair, Matt O’Sullivan said that there is something on offer to appeal to audiences of all tastes at the venue this summer.
“Punters won’t lack variety in the lineup for Ballykeeffe Midsummer concert series in 2024. Theatre, martial arts, probably one of Ireland’s most successful singer songwriters in Paul Brady and possibly the newest sensation, AMBLE plus Lyra and more, where could you go wrong. So a visit to Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre in Kilmanagh is a must for locals and visitors this summer.”
