Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny is preparing for a bumper Savour Bank Holiday Weekend and its Barrel Yard is the place to be on Saturday and Sunday evening for live music and great street food, prepared on-site.

Smithwick’s is one of Savour Festival’s main sponsors yet again this year and members of the public can enjoy the world-famous ale, as well as non-alcoholic and low alcohol drinks, at the Craft Brewers and Distillers Marquee on the Parade on Saturday from 10.30am to 8.30pm and again on Sunday from 12.30pm right up to 6pm.

The city centre visitor attraction is also sponsoring chef Gary O’Hanlon on the Savour Stage on Saturday from 1pm. He will be joined by Smithwick’s expert Lee Walsh who will explain all about ale and food pairing in the company of the award-winning chef, broadcaster, columnist, podcast host and Executive Head Chef at Kildare's K Club.

Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny’s Ignacio Peregrina said it’s shaping up to be one of the busiest weekends in Kilkenny for the visitor attraction with live music and freshly prepared, innovative street food cooked and served on-site on both Saturday and Sunday.

“Seán Maher will be on stage in the Barrel Yard on Saturday from 5pm to 7pm. We’re also hosting a very special Barrel Yard Savour Session on the Sunday evening from 6pm, right after the stalls close on The Parade. It’s the perfect place to keep the Savour party going with family and friends. Sunday’s programme will feature live music from Kilkenny’s very own Burnchurch, a local four-piece band known for blending traditional melodies with a contemporary edge. On both evenings, Blasta Street Kitchen will be serving its famous shredded duck ‘quackos’ with pineapple salsa, Tex-Mex chicken tacos, 8-hour chili beef nachos, and a vegetarian mixed veg and bean nacho bowl.

“To celebrate Savour, we’re offering a 15% tour discount to festival visitors through a special promo code – SEKSAVOUR which can be entered on our website while booking.  Some T&Cs apply and the promotion runs from October 24 to 29 and can be redeemed online,” he said.
