Rehearsal preparation was intense for upcoming local show of new production, ‘Gas Ticket’
Rigout Productions will bring their much-anticipated production ‘Gas Ticket’ to the Hole in the Wall in Kilkenny City on April 24 and to Brewery Lane Theatre in Carrick-on-Suir on April 26.
Directed by Jim Nolan, Gas Ticket tells the story of a sixteen-year-old girl who is forced to leave her baby behind in a mother-and-baby Home. They are never reunited again.
Gas Ticket is the story of both the girl and the baby, what becomes of them and the lives they imagine for one another.

It is presented by Rigout Productions, a Waterford-based organisation that has been creating theatrical works since 2012.
Previous productions have ranged from traditional shows in theatres to outdoors promenade pieces in Dunhill and Coumshingaun.
Rigout always produces original, meaningful work. The topic this year is no different. They are looking at the effects of the Church, of families and society on women and girls in Ireland.
Though the subject is heavy and some of the experiences are dark, the characters are strong and there is always hope involved.
This one-woman show portrays the complexity of the issues and the relationships involved in just one pregnancy and birth from one of these homes.
The play is written by Ger Bourke. Ger is an award-winning playwright from Piltown, County Kilkenny.
Director Jim Nolan is a playwright, theatre director and member of Aosdána.
He is well-known as the founding Artistic Director of Red Kettle Theatre Company.
The star of the production is Shauna Farrell, a professional actor, director and writer based in Waterford City.
Éadaoin Breathnach is Rigout Production’s producer and musical director for this and all previous productions.
Described as ‘funny, infuriating and poignant’, this play is definitely worth coming to see.
Tickets are €20. Shows begin at 8pm - one act, 70 minutes without an interval.
Tickets for the Hole in the Wall available on Eventbrite. Tickets for Brewery Lane available from their box office.
