A city‑wide demonstration is planned for this Saturday as Kilkenny residents express mounting horror over the scale of suffering in Gaza, particularly among children.
The Kilkenny Community Palestine Solidarity Group (KCPSG) is urging people across the city and county to gather beside the Castle at 1 pm on Saturday 2 August, before marching through the city centre.

Protesters are encouraged to be vocal in protest against what organisers describe as the use of hunger as a weapon of war.
The march will culminate at The Parade, where speakers will include a representative from Palestine and a guest from the Carlow branch of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Group.
A KCPSG spokesperson criticised recent Israeli announcements of brief military ‘pauses’, calling them ineffective and deceptive.

The weekend of protest will also include a Gig for Gaza at the Set Theatre on Sunday 3 August, running from 5pm to 1am.
The event will feature a diverse mix of music from traditional Irish to techno, showcasing local artists.
