Tionol Tommy Kearney, the annual gathering of uilleann pipers, was held in the Club House Hotel, Kilkenny on November 3, 4 and 5. The event commemorates the life and music of the famous Waterford piper, Tommy Kearney. Tutors were Nollaig MacCarthaigh and Paraic Butler. The event has been successfully run by Craobh Osrai Comhaltas Kilkenny for over 25 years. A photo album of pipers was presented to Nollaig by John Tuohy for Na Piobairi Uilleann archives. for tuition on uilleann pipes contact Pat Murphy or John Tuohy. Monthly classes are held in the Club House Hotel and The Village Inn, Patrick Street, Kilkenny. Weekly piping classes are also held in Waterford.
