Contestants from around the country will be descending upon Clonmel for the 16th annual Mr Personality Festival, organised by Kilkenny County Macra na Feirme.

This is the first year that the festival has taken place outside of Kilkenny.

The Mr Personality Festival Launch took place in the Talbot Hotel Clonmel with Clonmel Mayor Pat English in attendance supporting the new location of the festival. John Keane, Macra na Feirme National President, was also in attendance to officially launch the upcoming event.

The festival will take place from April 14-15 at the Talbot Hotel Clonmel. The Talbot Hotel are no strangers to hosting Macra events over the last few years.

The festival has been kindly sponsored by Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services, who have always been very generous and supportive of the festival. FRS Chairman Michael Parsons spoke on the night, along with Dan Kiely, FRS General manager.

Many contestants believe they have what it takes to be crowned Mr Personality 2023. The reigning Mr Personality Shane Quigley, represented Mayo at the last festival and really enjoyed his time during the weekend.

“Of all the opportunities I’ve been afforded through my time in Macra, my absolute highlight has to be taking part in Mr P," he said.

"From the beginning of the weekend, all the contestants gelled together and had such good craic. Taking part in the event is something that I couldn’t recommend enough to people!”

The contestants have a jam-packed weekend ahead of them. The contestants will arrive at The Talbot Hotel at 6pm on April 14, with the on-stage interviews starting at 8pm. The on-stage interviews will be conducted by our new MC for 2023, Miss Michelle Heffernan from Beat 102-103.

This will be followed by music from the much-anticipated The Waxies and DJ til late. The contestants will have an early start on Saturday morning with contestant private interviews with our judges.

After lunch, the contestant challenges will take place! On Saturday evening, each Mr Personality will be donning his suit and meeting with Kilkenny, Carlow and District Farm Relief Services and have their official photos taken. This is followed by the banquet, starting at 7.30pm. Hot Fuss will be playing hit after hit, until Mr Personality 2023 is announced at midnight. The DJ will be continuing the celebrations until the early morning
