Mayor of Kilkenny pushes for new site for 'most forgotten school in the city'

Mother of Fair Love School, Kilkenny City

It's 'high time' to identify a new site for the Mother of Fair Love School, according to the Mayor of Kilkenny, Cllr David Fitzgerald.

Speaking at the most recent meeting of Kilkenny City Municipal District Council, the Mayor described the Mother of Fair Love as the ‘most forgotten school in the city’.

"It's about time we identified a new site for school," he said.

"There's a wonderful, warm, kind and generous atmosphere in that school and they're working out of 1960s buildings.

"It's high time to find a new site. Many students come via buses, many from other counties, and this could be one of the reasons why it is often forgotten.

"It's time now to allow those students to have the same opportunities as other students in other schools across Kilkenny."
