More electric vehicle charging points planned for Kilkenny

Approximately fifty new electric vehicle charging points are being planned for Kilkenny.

This update was relayed to elected officials at the most recent full meeting of Kilkenny County Council.

Councillors were informed that Kilkenny County Council are currently engaging with appropriate bodies to assess the best locations for the points across the city and county.

Director of Services Tim Butler highlighted that 'a lot of charging points put in at present are quite slow' and that the local authority 'need to have a strategy in place'.

Kilkenny County Council are hoping to commence the rollout of these new charging points later this year.
