The multi-sport season is already up and running and comes to the Marble City this weekend.
Members of the Kilkenny Triathlon Club are hard at work putting the finishing touches to their annual duathlon, which will be centred around Kilkenny Castle on Sunday.
“This race is not just for super athletes - it's for everyone who loves a challenge and a good time,” said race director Pat Kenny.
“I can promise you that we've put tons of effort into making this event fun and exciting for everyone involved, from the racers to the spectators. Even if you’re not racing, we’d love to see you in the castle to cheer on the competitors. Your support makes all the difference and helps our athletes keep pushing forward, no matter how tough the race gets.
The action begins in the Castle Park at 11am, with a 5km run. After that participants will tackle a 20km cycle that leaves from the Castle Park and heads out the Waterford Road, turning for Bennettsbridge before travelling back into the Castle Park for a 3km run.
Entry costs €35 for individuals and €45 for teams. One day membership fees (€20) will also apply to all participants who are not current Triathlon Ireland annual members.
Entries close at 9pm on Saturday. For more see kilkennytriathlonclub.com
