The bus shelter at O'Loughlin Road
An unfinished bus shelter in Kilkenny City is ‘dangerous’ for youngsters who play in the area according to a local county councillor.
Cllr Andrew McGuinness has hit out at Kilkenny County Council for the long delay in completing works at the bus shelter at O’Loughlin Road.
“I am happy to see the bus shelter in place and it is great that there is a bus stop at O’Loughlin Road but the shelter has been left unfinished for far too long and it is dangerous as it is in an area where youngsters play every day.
“I have been raising this for weeks now so it is very frustrating that the work is not yet finished. I am calling on Kilkenny County Council to complete the works as a matter of urgency."
“I have also asked that the capping on the wall be repaired as it now looks very bad when compared to the new section that was put in for the bus shelter. The capping was replaced some years ago but after a cold freeze it crumbled and it has been in a bad state of repair since. The works need to be finished now as it has been left in an unsightly mess for too long,” he added.
