A number of Kilkenny schools have been given the green light to proceed to tender for extensions to their school buildings.
In Kilkenny City a two-classroom extension has been approved by the Department of Education for the Church of Ireland National School (Kilkenny Model School).
Deputy John McGuinness welcomed the announcement which was made this week.
