Kilkenny counsellor honoured with award

Patricia Wilson of Kilkenny has been honoured with the Southeast Regional Award by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.


The IACP Regional Awards recognise an IACP accredited member who makes a notable contribution to the profession of counselling and psychotherapy in their local community and region.


Ms. Wilson has dedicated her career to helping children and their families as a long-time bereavement counsellor at St Luke’s hospital, Kilkenny and a former senior lecturer for the Irish Hospice Foundation’s Professional Certificate in Children and Loss postgraduate programme.

She was an energetic and devoted volunteer working with the Kilkenny Bereavement Support group for 30 years and delivered bereavement information talks nationwide including in including facilitation of memorial days for Crumlin Children’s hospital and the Jack and Jill foundation.


In retirement, she continues to serve as a clinical advisor to Anam Cara – the Bereaved Parents’ Association.
