A park and playground in a Kilkenny community that worked hard for its creation, was left strewn with litter last weekend - prompting a plea to users of the park to take their rubbish home.
Posting on Facebook, those behind the Pil River Park in Piltown, South Kilkenny, pleaded with visitors to the park to not leave litter "strewn all over the place" alongside a photograph of the mess left behind in the rural park.
"Please respect the amenity and leave it as you find it or, better still, leave it cleaner than you found it," the post appealed, adding "if the bin is full - bring it home."
Comments under the social media post highlighted that the bin was overflowing with rubbish and that more bins were needed in the park. While many agreed with the sentiment many also pointed out that when the bin is full people should bring their rubbish home.
